About Me

Madiggir al-lo kaniyo langon (Good day to all of you).

My name is Norma and I am the daughter of a Bagoba and a PampangueƱo.

I have spent my childhood in the midst of the Bagobo community (mostly my mother’s relatives) where my father tilled quite a vast farmland.

I and my elder sister spent most of our growing years with the Bagobo Tagabawa and have assimilated some of their culture.

I have created this site to keep alive the stories and the memory of  our mother whom we fondly call Mamaling, the last Bagobo Tagabawa we know, and to gain awareness for her tribe which is about to be declared extinct. It’s sad because the Bagobo Tagabawa has a culture worth preserving.

In my own little way, I hope I can raise awareness among the new Bagobo Tagabawa generation that their heritage is worth preserving.
